Irish grey partridge conservation trust

Our partner conserving Ireland’s game birds and their habitats.

What they do

The Irish Grey Partridge Conservation Trust is a non-profit organisation working to protect and restore Ireland’s native game birds, including the grey partridge and red grouse. Their work focuses on:

  • Conducting research to monitor populations and identify conservation needs.

  • Restoring habitats to provide suitable nesting and feeding grounds.

  • Collaborating with conservation groups, communities, and policymakers.

By combining scientific research with on-the-ground conservation efforts, the Trust is helping to ensure the survival of these iconic species.

Why Game Bird Conservation Is Important

Game birds like the grey partridge and red grouse play an important role in Ireland’s ecosystems. They act as indicators of habitat health and contribute to biodiversity. Unfortunately, changes in land use and habitat loss have put these species at risk. Protecting them ensures the preservation of rural landscapes, supports ecological balance, and safeguards Ireland’s natural heritage for future generations.

How we Help

Reforest Nation is proud to support the IGPCT in their efforts to conserve Ireland’s game birds. Thanks to the support of our Rewild Members, we’ve donated €1,000 to assist their vital work.

This contribution makes a difference by:

  • Supporting habitat restoration projects to create safe and sustainable environments.

  • Funding research to better understand the challenges these birds face and develop effective conservation strategies.

  • Raising awareness about the importance of conserving game birds and their habitats.

Together, we’re ensuring the grey partridge and other native species continue to thrive in Ireland’s landscapes, enriching the country’s biodiversity.
